Mobile Gadgets: SDHC Memory Cards have Capacities 4GB and Larger

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

SDHC Memory Card (amazon)SD Memory Cards are nearly the size of a postage stamp and can be found anywhere in nearly every capacity up to 2GB. You may have one or two laying around as small as 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 256MB, 512MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB or 2GB. It is amazing how expensive these traditional SD Memory Cards were. Now you can hardly find one less than a 1GB and you can buy it for just a few dollars.

SDHC Memory Cards also nearly the size of a postage stamp are all 4GB or larger. You can easily find SDHC Memory Cards that are 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The SDHC Memory Cards are often used for digital photography and digital video. These cards record data very quickly and are able to handle huge files.

If you have older gadgets that accept SD Memory Cards they may not be compatible with SDHC Memory Cards. One important thing to remember is that the SD Memory Cards are compatible with SDHC devices but the SDHC Memory Cards are not compatible with SD devices.

One of my favorite digital cameras is one of my first. My Minolta Dimage X takes extremely close-up digital photos so I use it when I need that type of photo. It also takes great Internet and email sized digital photos. It accepts SD Memory Cards so I keep a few of them around.

In my opinion it is a great idea to have a variety of SD and SDHC Memory Cards stashed. You never know when you may need one to move a few files around.
