Gadgets: TeleZapper TZ900 Helps to End Telemarketer Calls

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

telezapper.jpgTelemarketer calls are annoying at the best. They interrupt every aspect of our life both at home and at work. Is it possible to end them once and for all? I cannot say for sure but the TeleZapper (pictured here from Amazon) may help.

What is a TeleZapper? It is a small device that you install between your phone jack and your telephone. Since most telemarketer calls are computer generated they can be blocked by a special tone that the TeleZapper emits. Once your phone number is deemed “not in service” it is typically dropped from the telemarketer’s call list.

Is there any chance that you will miss calls that you want to get? It is possible in the event that the call is recognized by the TeleZapper as a computer generated call. Is it likely to happen? Not really. Is there anything else that should be divulged about the TeleZapper? There is a beep heard each time you pick up the receiver.

On a personal note – telemarketers have led me to unplug my landline telephones at home. Each night as I tried to get to sleep by 9:00 PM a telemarketer would call. Often it would be the same one. Yes, sometimes their number is displayed on caller ID. I tried answering the call and asking them to quit calling – no luck. I tried to ignore the calls by not answering them – my phone continued to ring.

The cost of a TeleZapper is low so it is worth a try. The 3-tone mode of the TeleZapper TZ900 has been touted to block even the advanced computerized dialing used by telemarketing organizations. This is a problem that we all would like to solve – so if you have used a TeleZapper let us know how it is working for you.
