Sony has a great mid-range laptop series called NS. The screen size is 15.4 inches and the overall weight is 6.4 pounds. Unlike most other laptops the surface is textured and comes in some unique colors that include Nightfall Blue, Silk White, Granite Silver and Pink.

Four – yes, count them – four USB ports are built into the NS Series. Each side of the laptop sports two USB ports conveniently located toward the front. My laptop has two USB ports and I continually need at least one more. I’d love having four.

Prices for the Vaio NS Series range from just under $800 to over $1000. Although still a lot of money – not to bad for these specs.
