Gadgets: Electronic Drum Sticks the real sound without the real drum

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

Electronic Drum Sticks - photo from Amazon.comI find myself tapping my fingers in rhythm when I am deep in thought. It is amazing how different the sound is depending on the surface. My glass desk looks better than it sounds. Thud, thud, thud is what my ears hear but my mind is hearing the theme to one of my favorite movies.

Playing in the band was never a dream but I loved hearing the drummer beat out my high school theme song. Is there anyone out there that does not secretly wish deep down that they had a set of drums? Who would not like to play in a rock band – hair, arms and drumsticks flying?

Now it is easier to play the drums for real (sort of) without wearing out your fingertips or learning to perform in front of a crowd. Electronic gadgets continue to make life more fun. A pair of Electronic Drum Sticks (like the ones pictured here -from amazon.com) makes it sound like you have a drum set except in a much smaller space. The tips are sensitive so they recreate the drum sounds whenever tapped. To complete the feel – clang the cymbals as well.

What? You say that you do not know how to play the drums? No problem since the Electronic Drum Sticks play pre-recorded music. Then again, if you just want to throw caution to the wind you can just follow along with your favorite song on the radio.

These are truly a gadget that spans the ages. Anyone 3 years or older can play with the Electronic Drum Sticks.
