Gadgets: Fisher-Price Kid Tough Portable DVD Player in Pink or Blue
Fisher-Price understands kids – even the youngest ones. That is obvious by the toys they create that are intended for rough and tough play. Most of you have probably heard of the Fisher-Price Kid Tough Digital Cameras but have you seen the Fisher-Price Kid Tough DVD Player?
Young children like to control their world. They want to do what they see their parents and older siblings doing and they have no problem forcing their wishes on everything around them. Often that attention is turned towards the family’s electronics. Buttons are most fun when they cause something to happen whether it is channel surfing with the remote control or the activation of the DVD player.
A three+ year old knows which button to push to start a movie playing but does not understand that a DVD player is fragile. They have a mission and they are determined to complete it. No malice is intended but impatient little hands are dangerous near expensive electronic gear.
Instead of worrying, why not give your three+ year old child their very own DVD player? They can turn it on and off, they can throw it around and they can even watch a DVD on the 3.5 inch TFT (thin film transistor) screen. This is the same type of LCD display as the high end flat panel monitors. There is also Video out so the movie can be watched on the television set. There is a headphone jack as well.
Two hours of battery life may outlast attention spans but incase that is not the case the Kid Tough DVD player can be recharged. Dual handles are easy on small hands and the controls are intuitive for kids. If there are any complaints from parents it is that there should be a few more restraints that would counteract the ability of the kids to figure out the workings of the DVD player.
