Mobile Gadgets: Asus Eee PC 1000HE claim to fame 9.5 hour battery life
In the world of netbooks there are many exciting features. It would be great if there were one netbook that incorporated many of them into one. I have written before about my Dell Mini 9 Netbook. One of my favorite features is the ability to upgrade both the SSD and the RAM.
Just a few days ago I wrote about the Acer Aspire One. The dedicated SD memory slot serves as a way to increase the internal storage space without cracking it open. The Aspire One sees an SD memory card placed in the dedicated memory slot as part of the hard drive or SSD.
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE has its own claim to fame. How about a battery that lasts 9.5 hours between charges? Reportedly Asus has included their exclusive “Super Hybrid Engine” into the 1000HE which is the real hero of battery life. Battery saving features are included that allow the user to customize usage according to specific needs. This would be extremely helpful for anyone working outside of the office where charging stations are not always handy.
Although most netbook features are similar such as the size (8.9” to 10”), a less than full size QWERTY keyboard (92 percent), large capacity hard drives (120GB to 160GB), small SSD (4GB to 32GB), the Intel Atom Processor and operating systems (XP Home or Linux) – there are obviously some interesting variations.
