Gadgets: I found the 3 missing drivers for my Dell Mini 9 Netbook
Anytime that you load or reload an OS (Operating System) onto a computer you will encounter some kind of problem. Even though I used the Dell reinstall disk when I upgraded my Mini 9 from a 16GB SSD to a 64GB SSD my issue was caused by three drivers.
Each time that I booted the machine I got that annoying install wizard that never finds what it is looking for and instead installs devices as “unknown device”. Through sheer desperation I found a website that lists all of the Mini 9 drivers that can be downloaded for free. Two of the drivers that I downloaded stopped two of the pop-ups.
• Video/Graphics Driver for XP
• Wireless LAN Driver for XP
The third driver eluded me because at boot up the pop-up bubble said that new hardware was found but it did not tell me which hardware was found.
Finally after trying to install every driver listed (some were already installed) I ended up at the end of the list – go figure. The missing driver was the last one listed.
• Battery Meter/Wireless Select Switch Application for XP
If you are having this issue or in case you have it in the future go to the website getpcmemory.com to get a full list of drivers for your computer. In case my problem persisted I had already searched out another website called zhangduo.com. They have an “unknown Device Identifier”. Perseverance paid off for me so let me tell you here – Do not give up!
