Mobile Gadgets: Sony P Series Lifestyle PC Introduced at CES 2009

Published by debcook at 8:40 pm under technology Edit This

It gets more difficult everyday to click “buy” when trying to decide which laptop to buy. There are desktop replacement laptops, there are mobile laptops, there are ultra mobile laptops, there are netbooks and now there is a brand new Sony P Series Lifestyle PC. My finger is twitching as I type this.

I expected something new from Sony and that is why I waited to buy a new laptop until CES 2009. Although I am unable to attend this year I have kept a close eye on developments such as this one. Sony has packed in a lot of goodies into a very small package. Immediately after reading about Sony’s introduction of the “P” I clicked over to their website to check it out for myself.

Although I am disappointed that the processor is not dual core I do like the 2GB of Ram. Many of the other features offered are quite nice. The XBRIGHT-ECO LCD 8-inch screen is extra wide so viewing spreadsheets and websites full width should not be an issue. The Sony P weighs a mere 1.4 pounds so it will not add too much weight to a bag or purse. I look forward to downsizing my purse (gadget bag). Choosing between Glossy Onyx Black, Glossy Garnet Red, Glossy Crystal White or Glossy Emerald Green will only be made easier because the 128GB SSD version is only available in the Glossy Onyx Black.

My mind is swirling with the possibilities that this little Sony P Series Lifestyle PC offers me in terms of portability. I only wish that I could stop worrying that a new sibling will show up way before the new wears off.
