Mobile Gadgets: Share data between gadgets with the Kingston Technology Mobility Kit

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

Mobile technology is sometimes not so mobile. It is important to think beyond the obvious in order to use mobile technology to its full advantage. What good is the SD card in a digital camera if your laptop does not have a card reader built in? Sure you can view the image in the camera LCD screen but very few digital cameras can email that photo to friends and family.

Not everyone has the room in their bag to carry every adapter needed to share data between multiple devices that might include a cell phone, a digital camera, a video player or a laptop. Add to that the different sizes and types of SD cards. At first glance it just seems like too much trouble.

I am always on the lookout for gadgets that solve problems. My Sony Vaio laptop has an SD card reader in addition to a Sony Memory Stick reader but without adapters I cannot use the miniSD card that fits inside my cell phone. Often I need to transfer digital photos from my camera to computers other than my own.

The “Kingston Technology Mobility Kit” is a very handy and compact data sharing solution. Not only do you get an SD card adapter for the miniSD and microSD cards there is a USB SD card reader included as well. SD cards up to 8GB capacity can be used with the Kingston Kit.

This is one of the smallest most unique SD card readers that I have seen and I can see myself using it often. It is small enough to fit in my bag without displacing something else. That is high praise in my opinion.
