How many cars and computers does one girl need? It is hard to say – although each is similar to the other, both have value in different ways. A car and a pickup share my driveway. At this moment my laptop and my desktop shares my desk.

A few years ago I decided that one computer was not enough for me. There had to be a mobile version and a desktop version. Each one has its own place in my busy day. Friends and family do not understand why I am willing to lug a laptop everywhere I go. They seldom see me using it but I assure them that I do on a daily basis. Same thing goes for my desktop computer. I do not have a lot of company when I work so again others are not aware of my needs.

In one of his posts, Christopher Dawson, a blogger at ZDNet, confirmed that I am not the only one that thinks this way. Maybe I should send a link to my husband. He thinks that I have enough laptops to last for years to come. Truth be told I do have enough, but there is always a need that a new laptop could fulfill better. Case in point – my new Dell Mini 9.

I need access to the Internet throughout the day. A netbook can safely be carried from place to place while running without the worry of ruining the hard drive. On the other hand I need to access my financial software residing on my Sony Vaio at a moments notice.

What is a girl to do?
