Gadgets: Digital bathroom scales senses who you are

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

Watching our weight is a national past time. Unfortunately most people watch their weight rise on a consistent basis. It is not wise to become obsessed but it is important to keep an eye on your average weight over a set period of time.

Once a week is most often suggested. Checking your weight more often makes you too stressed about the fluctuations from day to day. Personally I check my weight several times per week to keep myself in check. A cool digital bathroom scale makes the task interesting so that could have a little to do with my habit.

Digital bathroom scales are often quite modern. Glass platforms with digital readouts are space saving and sometimes do not resemble bathroom scales of the past. They are also much more intelligent. Personalized settings make it possible for several people in the household to track not only their weight but also their water and fat content.

Entries of age, height, gender and fitness level provides the digital bathroom scale with enough information that it recognizes the user. Small sensors placed strategically underfoot complete the connection between the digital scale and the one standing on it.

Do not worry about receiving a shock from the sensors – there will be none. However, you may be shocked from the readout if there is too much time between weigh-ins.
