Gadgets: Jumbo calculator great for gifting
Sometimes the simplest thing can make a job easier. Sometimes a gift can be as useful as it is cheap. Case in point – a jumbo size calculator.
Have you thought about how difficult it is for a vision-impaired person to use a calculator? Even if they are ten-key proficient it may be difficult to see the readout. Calculators are more than a piece of office equipment. Paying bills, balancing a checkbook and adjusting recipes are only a few tasks that are made easier with the use of a calculator.
Garage Sales are another great use. Even when talking nickels and dimes no one wants to feel ripped off. The readout is large enough that the customer can see what is being keyed in.
Teaching young children to use a calculator is easier when the keys are large enough that they can hunt-and-peck. Too small keys could accidentally be miss-hit as little fingers slip.
Most of the jumbo size calculators measure approximately the size of a sheet of paper while being rather thin. They function as any other would and are often dual-powered. Solar power is not unusual and direct sunlight is not required. However, if kept in a dark drawer it may be necessary to plug it into an electrical outlet.
At a cost of under $10 a jumbo calculator could be a great hit at your next gift exchange.
