Gadgets: UV light is a treatment for dust mites and more

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

UV (ultra violet) light sterilization treatment can kill bacteria, dust mites and microorganisms from everyday common items. Water, toothbrushes and even our beds can be rid of unwanted critters and health damaging microorganisms by using a surprising method.

UV light literally changes the DNA makeup and sterilizes the reproductive systems of the offenders. The application of UV light works quickly and quietly and is deadly to the target. Successful treatment includes factors such as the identification, the length of time and the life cycle of the microorganism.

Many of the gadgets can be used when traveling as well as at home. Some examples include:

· Antibacterial Bed Vacuum – kills and removes up to 99.9 percent of bacteria from mattress. By vibrating the surface it is able to nearly eradicate dust mites.
· Violight Toothbrush Sanitizer and Storage System – designed to hold 4 toothbrushes at once. It is activated by pushing a single button and kills 99.9 percent of bacteria from toothbrushes. Travel versions are also available.
· SteriPEN – A portable water purifier that uses UV light to kill bacteria and viruses in drinking water. LCD shows what dose of light you are generating.
· Germ Guardian Light Wand – Kills up to 99.9 percent of bacteria and harmful unwanted viruses as well as mold and dust mites. Simply pass the wand over the any surface.

It is difficult to believe that a light passed over or through an object could possibly make such a difference. However, UV light technology is a proven method of sanitation and sterilization.
