Gadgets: Flat panel televisions are completed by a great looking stand

Published by debcook under technology Edit This

Just over a year ago a Sony WEGA took its place in my home office. It is thin but it is not a flat panel. Cost wise it was less expensive than one of those gorgeous flat panels televisions but that was not the rational behind the purchase.

A television mounted on the wall is a bit sexy I think. The sleek look just draws you in – especially the ones with a thin black frame. The ability to angle it up, down and side to side is functional while making you feel so upscale and modern.

Then where do you put the DVR, the DVD and all of the other electronic gadgets that accessorize the television? What is the point having such a great television when a shelf jutting out from the wall ruins the look? There you have it – that is why I chose a thicker less expensive television.

I think that I have found a great solution. It is called a Z-Line Flat Panel Stand with an integrated Mount. If I were buying a flat panel television tomorrow I would buy one of these too.

What a great look. The simple open design would fit in any room regardless of the other décor. The name is obvious – the sides are shaped like a “Z” with three shelves placed evenly apart – starting at the stop with each shelf below getting wider. You may be thinking that this design does not sound too special.

The integrated mount is the special touch. It looks like an extra shelf has been turned on its end and then attached to the back of the unit. It stands taller than the top shelf and holds the television suspended at the top. Cords and cables are hidden for a clean look.

My next television it will be a flat panel. Having a stand that looks as good as the television will be hard to resist.
