Gadgets: Afford new one after old one sells online

Published by debcook at 7:22 pm under technology Edit This

What to do with that gadget when it is time to upgrade? Should you sell it? Could you donate it? Maybe you could hand it off to a family member.

Newer models that have upgraded software on it are continually replacing electronic gadgets that we sprang for such a short time ago. We are only human and we want the best available. That will not change any time soon – at least in my case.

Ebay has been an outlet for many of my earliest gadgets. They sold well, especially when I offered them with the original box and the original “in the box” accessories. Selling a gadget requires time, effort and the added stress of convincing a buyer that it works great – you just want a new one.

You may already know about sites such as gazelle.com but I just found them. You simply fill in the blanks and they make you an online offer. For example, at the time of this writing, my AT&T 8525 cell phone (with all original accessories) in good condition (w/ 1 tiny corner ding) would bring me $84.00. Without the ding I would be offered $94.00.

I believe that selling online is a great way to move on to the next level so I would definitely take part in the process – after I searched around to see where I could get the best deal.
