iPhone 3G: Your new fitness partner

Published by debcook at 7:41 pm under technology Edit This

At this moment I am updating my iPhone 3G so that I can download imapmyrun from the App Store. The update is required and the download will not take place without it.

Most runners know their bodies well enough to know when progress is made. Still, tracking fitness improvement is fun. The numbers makes the progress measurable but it is difficult to get true numbers on a consistent basis.

The iPhone 3G has an integrated GPS so with the addition on imapmyrun the numbers are real. Now I can track my time, speed, pace, distance and burned calories and then review them in a training log.

Mapmyrun.com offers multiple ways to share training information. Routes can be uploaded and shared. Forums offer strangers and friends alike a place to virtually meet and talk about fitness routines, races and routes. Fitness information can be uploaded to the site or fitness can be tracked on and retrieved from an iPhone 3G.

Tomorrow morning I will try this new App out. I will report back to let you know how well it works for me. Do any of you use imapmyrun on your iPhone?
