Gadgets: The drool factor
Have you watched one of those unboxing videos? You know those videos that make you feel that you would give anything to just get your hands on that cell phone or laptop. They stir such emotions in us – I’m sure that they are meant to make us feel envious.
I admit it – I love watching these videos. As they try to open the box I find myself getting impatient. I start glancing at the little status bar to see if there will be time to show me the device inside. Have you noticed that these torture artists always start with the power cords and operation manuals and wait to show you the good stuff at the very end?
In all seriousness - these unboxing videos are helpful. I know that I am more likely to order a product sight unseen if I’ve watched a well-made video that shows shots of all sides, top and bottom. I especially enjoy watching a knowledgeable person showing the tips and tricks of a Touchscreen gadget.
Now whenever I buy a new electronic gadget I feel that I have to grab my camera and document my own YouTube unboxing moment.
