iPhone 3G - Order replacement USB Ultracompact Power Adapter
Apple has announced a problem with some iPhone 3G power adapters. I was worried that they would replace them with an ugly version but from what I can tell the replacements will look exactly the same as the originals. Whew!
Last night while surfing around the internet, I learned that some Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapters that shipped with most all Apple 3G iPhones have faulty prongs. The prongs could break off when being unplugged from an electrical outlet. Tonight I checked into Apple’s recall and actually filled out the form online to get my replacement through the mail.
There are two ways to get your replacement power adapter.
TIP: Check for a single green dot on the bottom of your USB Power adapter. If you see a single green dot you already have an updated adapter.
· You can visit an Apple store with the original power adapter in hand for an exchange.
· You can fill out a form on the Apple Support website requesting that they send you a new power adapter. They will send you a prepaid mailer to return the original adapter to them.
The new power adapters will be available by October 10th, 2008. If you order one online it should ship on or about October 10th, 2008.
