Mobile Gadgets - AT&T 881 USB Broadband Card vs Roxio CD Creator
Roxio CD Creator is my favorite CD/DVD burning software and I just installed version 10. Previously I used version Roxio CD Creator 6.0 and was very happy with it until I purchased the AT&T USB Broadband Card 881.
It was a few days before last Christmas, during a huge ice storm, that I decided to never be without internet connection again. I followed through so I was excited to get my AT&T USB Broadband Card home.
I immediately read the instructions and plugged it into the USB port of my Sony Vaio. I was told at the AT&T store that I would have no problems because the software would automatically install. You know what is coming – it did not work.
First thought was – great, I just signed a two year contract on this thing and I cannot get it to work. I dreaded the thought of going back to the AT&T store for technical help. Instead I started searching for an answer on Google.
A forum post caught my attention because it mentioned Roxio CD Creator 6.0. It said that once he uninstalled that software his AT&T USB Broadband card worked. My interest was peaked so I uninstalled my software. You know what is coming – it worked!
The same post mentioned that Roxio CD Creator would get along with the 881 Broadband Card as long it was version 10 or higher.
I finally got around to loading Roxio CD Creator 10. I can again burn CDs and DVDs. I just plugged in my 881 Broadband Card. I am online and able to post this blog entry. I am happy again.
