Digital notepads are the ultimate way to take notes. Doodling is fun too. PDAs are great and have a purpose in most busy lives but they are not always convenient. When you need to jot down a quick note or phone number a piece of paper is typically what you reach for.
As a student I remember writing several pages of notes only to spend even more time typing them later. A digital notepad would have made a huge difference.
I find that a lot of people have never heard of a digital notepad but once they hear what is capable with one they get excited. What do you need to get started?
- A digital notepad
- The included digital ink pen
- 4 AAA batteries (operates digital tablet up to 100 hours)
- An ordinary pad of paper (any paper will work)
- SD card for expanded memory (optional)
A digital notepad turns handwritten notes, doodles and drawings into digital files that can be transferred to your computer and used with Microsoft Office programs. Simply plug the digital notepad into the USB port on your computer then save, copy, edit and organize everything that is written or drawn on the paper.
Digital notepads such as the SolidTek DM-L2 can act as a graphics tablet while connected to a PC. Anything written on the tablet will automatically be displayed on your computer monitor.
A digital notepad will not replace a Tablet PC but it will not cost as much either. A high end digital notepad will typically cost approximately $150. After the initial purchase price the ongoing expenses will be very low; new batteries now and then and a regular pad of paper when you run out.
We all take notes. We all need to keep track of our notes. I think that a digital notepad would be a great gift for a college student. I think that a digital notepad would be a great gift for a business person. I think that a digital notepad would be a great gift for me.
