Bluetooth Headsets are Easy to Pair

Bluetooth wireless headsets have been a hot topic all over the Internet lately. I’ve read about the Apple iPhone Bluetooth headset dropping in price by $30.00. Sorry Apple, I already have a Bluetooth headset that should work just fine. As you’ve read in my earlier post I have a Motorola H12 (FYI - my new one is working loud and clear).
Before purchasing my new 3G iPhone (which I have not received yet by the way) I asked about the compatibility of various Bluetooth headsets. I was glad to hear that I do not have to replace mine (again).
When I read that Best Buy is offering a Bluetooth pairing service for $9.99 I was further convinced that you can make money doing just about anything. There are plenty of people out there that are willing to pay for a service that they want or need.
The reason this news effected me is that I have paired up 3 different Bluetooth headsets to 3 different cell phones in the past 2 days. Pairing is not the problem – sometimes finding the right settings in the various cell phones is however. It may take a few searches through the settings menu but once you find the Bluetooth settings you are almost there.
Anyone having trouble with the pairing process should remember that the Bluetooth headset has an instruction/owners manual. So does the cell phone as far as that goes. If you have lost your instruction/owners manual search for it online.
Usually the pairing process is just a matter of turning on the Bluetooth headset, holding down the call button and letting the cell phone find it then let off the button. Once you see the name of your Bluetooth headset on your cell phone screen choose it and follow the onscreen instructions. When asked for a pass code you need to enter (the digits) 0000 and after that the process completes itself.
Fitting the Bluetooth headset over your ear may be the most difficult operation of all. Once you have mastered it either call your cell phone or have someone else call you. You should hear a ring in your ear – then push down and release the call button – then talk. If your Bluetooth headset and your cell phone are paired you should hear someone talk back to you.
Hopefully I have saved some of you the price of a couple gallons of gas!
