Mobile Phone Browsers - Which Does More of What You Want?
The new 3G Apple iPhone is looking better to me all the time. Today I was looking for a net trampoline enclosure. Not wanting to boot up my laptop I decided to search for it on my cell phone.
I am running Windows Mobile 6.0 and although it is much better than 5.0 was it is still not able to do some things that I want it to. I really like the PDA functions – which is the original reason that I bought a PDA phone in the first place. I downloaded Opera Mobile and it worked fairly well except- close but no cigar.
For some reason – right in the middle of an internet search – the search stops. Although I have read numerous forum posts about similar subjects I still do not have the answer. I believe that it has something to do with Flash or Java but again, I am not sure. An example of what happens is this. If the web site has a login I can get past the login. If the site does not have a login I can get to the homepage. I can click on links and open them. After traveling a few links deep the site stops responding to further requests.
I do not think that I would have this problem with the iPhone. I need to study up on Safari vs Internet Explorer.
